Oh ok lol

Kuk Harrell? I thought this was an alias for Pharrell but he's actually a producer. I never heard of him.:ehh:

shyt, when is the last time him and Chad really worked together on something?:mjcry:

Kuk been in the game for a minute and is a top dog pop vocal producer. He makes these pop singer bytches sing the shyt the way he wants it to sound. Every relevant big time pop singer goes to him to get their vocals right. But I’m very surprised he’s on his considering that Pharrell is a competent vocal producer on his own. Likely scenarios is that Rihanna brought him on board since that’s been her peoples since 2007

I’m glad they are back but I’ll have to listen to this a few times with headphones and give my assessment. shyt feels like “Hot & Fun” part 2, which I wasn’t feeling back when that dropped.

Pharrell is clearly steering the ship musically like he has been for some time and that N.E.R.D feel isn’t there on this one but I will give it a chance. They didn’t have to come back together to do any music, so I’m just happy they’re doing this.

And yes, the track feels like a Pharrell vault song with him cashing in the Rihanna favor since I’m sure the whole damn industry owes him at this point. But I’d rather be throw the track to her as a solo for her next project and they do their thing. But, this could be the next evolution for the group. I still wanna hear more singing on whatever their next album sounds like instead of this rap/sing hybrid that everyone is doing.

Yeah, I listened to a couple of times and just felt like it was bland. I don't think it's horrible but it was neither here nor there to me.
It actually reminds me of the song he wrote and produced for Puffy. Rihanna's delivery sounds just like Puff's delivery on Finna Get Loose.
I don't know, it just sounds real generic to me. Almost like imitation or caricature of NERD/The Neptunes sound.
You are right, they don't have to do shyt and they don't owe us nothing. Their legacy is already cemented.
I don't know, I wasn't really expecting them to even put out nothing new no more, so it's good to see them back.
But at the same time, I'm like, if it's generic and bland like this, I'm good.

I agree 100% on the bolded. Yup. I couldn't have said it any better.

Oh ok. The bolded makes sense.... That's probably it more than likely.

apparently, this track was made back in 2015...

P vault gotta be insane...

Yea so this confirms the track is a couple years old, bath salts line kinda gave it away anyways. Haven't been any face biters in the news recently. With this being a solo P production, can almost definitely say that this was a track for Rihanna that was just sitting around until she ultimately passed on it. Like others have said here, it's probably just a single to garner attention and I doubt the album will sound like this. Track reminds me of the song P did with Diplo a couple years ago, must've been recorded around the same time as lemon

i'm almost positive this track was for Puffy...even down to the "i though i told you that we won't stop" line Rih spit...P was using this flow around that time...this sounds just like this Puff song that also dropped in 2015

my guess is Puff passed on this for Finna Get Loose and P played it for Rih and she hopped on it, not knowing what he would do with it (prolly scrapped another solo album...i know he was talking about doing another one after GIRL wasn't that well received) and now throwing this on the NERD album as a teaser...

So glad the band is back together too!

sounds more like a Pharrell track than a nerd track
It does, doesn't sound like Chad played on this at all. You think Pharell would troll us like this :francis:

I'm not implying anything here but I wouldn't be surprised if I hear more of Rihanna rapping in the near future. Rihanna and Drake have really good systems backing them. Very intuitive
