every ref of that game need to be disciplined thats a call you should not be allowed to miss period.
Even if it’s not technically a travel because “Giannis doesn’t have possession until the ball stops spinning” it’s one of those spirit of the rule things. This makes Giannis unstoppable and likely why he looks more human in international ball.

That is technically a travel and clearly 4 - 5 steps

Dudes are trying to explain technical details about the rules and people are like “I wrote the rules, I’m not listening! UNWATCHABLE!”.

Personally I learned something new, not very often in basketball compared to the nfl where it happens like 20 times per season

The NFL rarely changes its rules and when it does its major.
The NBA constantly makes major changes in comparison. The NBA is more open to major rule changes than any major US sport. They even blatantly ignore their ruleset, like carrying/palming and traveling

Is this a new rule?
From my googling the NBA just clarified it in 2019, because it was a gray area before where officiating was all over the place

I'm not talking about new rules, I'm talking about rules rarely explained/called etc.

so you can spin the ball in your hand all the way down the court and its not a travel? it should be 5 steps but even with the bs gather step its 4 steps. its insane thats not called a travel.

You made the claim that the NFL changes rules, I'm just stating that no they don't. And when they do they take a very long time to do so in comparison to the NBA.

THis is not a new rule, they just stopped enforcing it for it seems like the last 8 - 10 years.

I don’t know where you saw that someone said that the nfl changes rules, it wasn’t me. You are stuck on rules changing, but you are also the only one talking about it :dahell:

It actually is an ol school palming/ carry.

Since they allow you.
to place your hand under the ball egregiously now.
Back in the day.
Your hand was part of the ball and you could not place your hand under the ball in that manner.
Now they have freedom of movement and the gather rule.
So i think the only way to get called for a carry or palming variation of rhe call. Would be old ol school where the ball goes above your shoulder in the act of dribbling. I doubt palming is called anymore movving forward.
