Top indie names can make bank on the indies by doing signings, meet and greets, and selling their own merch without having the WWE take a cut from all of it. Those things happen at basically every indie show too because that’s how they make their money.
WWE gives the talent a lot more money and a lot higher profile, but they can drastically limit their money making opportunities outside of the company. And they don’t make shyt from merch sales if they don’t sell enough merch.
