Why would Ingram sign an extension now? Whether you like him or not he was going to cash in during free agency. Maybe Rich Paul thought he might get hurt again?

I get it, because last summer that money dried up FAST. For the amount he was trying to get, it makes sense, because there wouldn't be a plethora of teams just lining up to give him that much.
