Lol please. 92 was one of the top 2 or 3 highest violent crime rate years in modern American history and New Orleans was one of the top 2 or 3 highest violent crime rate cities during that time.

Uptown and downtown started beefing with each other in 88??

Any brehs remember?? 88 or 87 maybe.

I was to young to recall

This is during the crack era so if there was beef it was probably related to drug related murders. we were living on St. Thomas st. back then right off Jackson.

I liked New Orleans East but I don't know if it is the same as how it was in the early 90s.

I feel like some of the blame is on Wayne.

Honestly it’s cause it’s the only place in New Orleans cheap affordable housing, specficily apartments. So after Katrina that was a area that the hoods from all over flooded to, not to talk about how under developed it is.

it's a shame how gentrification swept through the city. I lived my whole life until Katrina uptown and if I wanted to live there now, I'd be paying ridiculous prices.
