I can understand Pro but really don't get it about Slim

The real answer is that it's cheaper to manufacture the new slim model. As parts get cheaper, sony usually redesigns their consoles to be smaller with cheaper refinements on the hardware.

im good with my OG 5 disc edition. i keep it out of sight and out of mind until i need to change a disc. the aesthetics of this generation dont look that good no matter what they do. the PS2 and the 2 slim were peak aesthetic - the kind of hardware that could make you double up just for the hell of it.

Plus it frees them up from making two different SKUs. Now it's literally just one with an optional disc drive. So they're def making this and the Pro and those will be our options
