Results for "Native American" on Reddit for the past day have been dominated by this and while the /r/news comments are typical of how fukked people are, what's worse is it seems to make people think they can shyt on Natives generally.
The secondary racism has always been the worst part of Native American mascotry.
Balancing Consolation: While it's depressing to see this story blasted on Reddit, /r/news and /r/NFL are in bad company for all the hate-subs that are sloppily devouring this story and its attendant confirmation bias at the same time and in the same manner.
The association makes them look awful, just as they deserve. A lot of these people in the defaults and mainstream subs might not think they're racist, nor do they think Redskins is racist, but now they sound and look like racists because they're indistinguishable from the out-and-out racists.
