I think this is the new wave that the cool kids rich white hipsters will be banging on the next couple years at their shows. SP-404s to Maschines to This:




I'm not privilege enough to be able to afford the 850 sticker price, and I don't understand why it's so much, but a lot of people seem to have it. Like most beatmachines, it's probably because it's half status symbol, half because it's probably the best device out on the market.

Edit: I'm just kinda turning this into a compendium of the burgeoning music scenes preferred production equipment as the future of beatmaking starts to unfurl before us.

I'll be honest I want an op1 but can't figure out if I'll use it enough to validate the price tag. I could get a cheap bass guitar, microkorg and micro brute for that price jeez
