Claim 1: Has Russia Sent Troops to Burkina Faso?

Credible developments beginning in January 2024 confirm that Russia has indeed deployed military personnel to Burkina Faso. A report by Bloomberg on 24 January 2024 revealed that approximately 100 Russian troops, under the newly branded “Africa Corps,” had arrived in Ouagadougou, the Burkinabè capital, with plans to increase the number to 300.

The Explainer verified that the Africa Corps is the formal successor of the Wagner Group, a Russian paramilitary organisation previously involved in military operations across parts of Africa, including Mali and the Central African Republic. In Burkina Faso, these Russian forces were reportedly dispatched to bolster security and provide protection to key state institutions and leadership.

Further confirmation came in February 2024, when Burkina Faso’s ruling military junta publicly acknowledged the presence of Russian forces. The country’s transitional president, Captain Traoré, stated that the Russians were present to assist in the fight against terrorism and would “stand by the side” of Burkinabè troops.
Additionally, The Explainer gathered that during a June 2024 diplomatic visit to Burkina Faso, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed that Russian military instructors were operating in the country. Lavrov announced that the number of Russian trainers would increase to improve the Burkinabè military’s capability to combat extremist groups.

These statements and reports establish that Russian troops have indeed been deployed in Burkina Faso, operating in an official capacity with the knowledge and approval of the Burkinabè government. Their primary stated objective is to support counterterrorism efforts and military training, although their presence also bolsters the protection of the current regime.

Yeah...this channel went from posting random "top ten" videos to spamming Traore and other anti Western AI narrated vids every day that make bold claims using archive footage with zero corroborating evidence or citing any journalists.
Not just channels doing that, we have posters here parroting and spreading dictator and pro-Russian propaganda. Get rid of the French just to bend over the Russians brehs :francis:

Russians are not imposing Russian culture or politics or any rainbow agendas. They are purchasing minerals at a fair price and providing security and training as payment.

Alot of you are just low IQ with low critical thinking skills

Furhter more you all provide NO other solutions and say stupid cliche comments that are not practical. America and France never helped any African country manufacture weapons... guess who has.

Until you losers can provide pragmatic alternative solutions, STFU

theres no evidence of this and these AI videos are getting embarrassing.
I like the ideals he is preaching but it seems very obvious to me that there is a social media propaganda campaign engineered by the Russians to make Traore into some kind of African super hero.

He is still a dictator at the end of the day and we have seen plenty of African dictators start out well and then ending up as despots.
