I liked it. I'm always down to see series from other countries than the US to see what they bring to the table. Some spooky moments, overall interesting story, I felt they could've gone more in depth on some aspects but it's a strong show imo.

Very demonic and bizarre
Interesting concept though. I have a lot of questions about the ending.
The show has a way of making you like and dislike the main characters along with the events surrounding them. I don't know if that's great writing or not but the characters are dynamic
I want to know why the name of the show is Ares though
I watched a few reviews and to my surprise most of them weren't familiar with the term or the god of war

Kind of reminded me of midsommer in a sense that she felt a connection with the occult because her home life was falling apart. Her friend tried to tell her but she thought he was jealous of her rising in the ranks quickly(typical arch plot) I still liked it like you said this seemed to have some real life aspects to it, I felt it was too real and a secret society like that isn’t very far fetchedYeah she sexy

Yep it's very dark and i believe gives a wink and a nod to the occult
It's a very blatant in its approach in that regard
Btw: I watched this with English audio and English subtitles. Made it easier to follow along. The pacing of the show is very good, 30 min episodes, binged the whole season in one night
Things I didn't like
I didn't like that the Black girl gave herself over to a demonic entity. Racially that just doesn't sit well with me. I understand as a plot device it works with the underlying slavery theme. I hate seeing a black person become the living embodiment of evil. Reinforces us being seen in a negative connotation.
I did like how she brought swift justice to the oppressors. The show unveiled a ton of subliminal feelings white people have with black people and why our mere presence makes them leery. I've never seen our presence represent power and strength on screen like this. I always wanted to see a horror flick utilize slavery in that context.
