The funny thing about NI is that it's all about what you see the product as.

If you see Maschine as a DAW it's pretty frustrating cause it's not a real DAW (kinda like oldschool Reason). If you see it as a plugin/vst, it's amazing. But the truth is it's in between. They are selling you a system.

Same thing with the standalone. It's dissapointing because of people imagine it could have been. And the price. Could have bee, n so much greater. It feels like a ripoff because it's so similar to the mk3. But at the same time, if you actually look at what you are getting and pretend the mk3 never existed... For the same price, when talking about simplicity of workflow, sounds, ports, quality of pads... It's pretty good. People saying AKAI but is the workflow as nice? Are the pads as nice? By the way, I'm not saying they are not, i just don't have much experience with akai. Ironically it's greatest competition might be the MK3, lol
