no you simple nikka there's different levels of evidence in science

the article you posted means next to nothing (case-control study)

you posting 50 articles with the same conclusion holds more weight

1 article doing a rigorous review of those 50 articles holds the most possible weight

the article I posted is from the highest possible level of evidence (systematic review), so it's conclusion can actually be useful

see this tower

the shyt nikkas are posting like "this worked for my uncle" or my brother etc is so meaningless that it's not even on here.
Yeah, so you posted a systemic review that gives overall inconclusive data, but shows a small positive effect for chronic lower back in the short interim after the clinical studies when combined with other therapies compared to no therapy or sham therapy.

Then you said the science behind it isn't real and it's a placebo, which is exactly the conclusion wrought by the study I posted. Thanks.

I was always skeptical of it. You hear some people swear by it, but that placebo is a powerful thing.

Got an uncle that don't believe in hardly nothing...Did 11 years on a drug case.......nikka in his 50 having back problems and says the only thing that begins to help is that "lil asian man with them needles"

My uncle testimony>>>>than this study.......
No it isn't. And if your uncle did find some relief from acupuncture, that's not incompatible with the conclusions of this study and many like it. Read it.

Publication bias is also listed as a concern in the design of randomized trials of acupuncture.[103][104][105] A 1998 review of studies on acupuncture found that trials originating in China, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan were uniformly favourable to acupuncture, as were ten out of 11 studies conducted in Russia.[103]

A 2011 assessment of the quality of randomized controlled trials on TCM, including acupuncture, concluded that the methodological quality of most such trials (including randomization, experimental control and blinding) was generally poor, particularly for trials published in Chinese journals (though the quality of acupuncture trials was better than the drug-related trials). The study also found that trials published in non-Chinese journals tended to be of higher quality.[106]

Interesting.

They wanna say all eastern or ancient natural medicine is bad just so they can push western medicine for profit..it's worked for 1000s of years so how can some article debunk it..pretty soon they're gonna say massage therapy is useless and that people should take a pill to for their stress...opps too late

There are two recent studies out of doing that. One was a study based off Physicians saying multivitamins are useless but had no real evidence to prove that they don't. Then there was another study saying that L-Carnitine is dangerous for the heart and will cause problems but every other study claims it's helpful for the heart and fuels it. They push the those agendas forward like they do GMO food. If 5 million people said acupuncture did wonders for their health and have seen increased mental and physical abilities then we shouldn't worry about that, we should focus on these 40 people in this study that say it doesn't.

:snoop:

Yeah it could be a similar conclusion... But the LEVEL OF EVIDENCE is different

Let's say a kid watches a quarter of basketball and says LeBron is the greatest of all time

On the other hand an international committee of basketball experts analyzes his whole career and comes to a consensus agreement that LeBron is the greatest of all time

Do both mean the same to you??

Yeah, but what is your point? You posted a meta-analysis. Props for that. I don't get your hostility and contrarian posture. You came to essentially the same conclusion I did, linking a more thorough body of evidence. You're like "You're right but I posted more evidence than you you idiot." :wtf:

Because a lot of people's minds are swayed with anecdotal evidence and small meaningless studies like the one you posted

People are dying because of this... look at the idiots lobbying against vaccinations lately
