Listening on monitors real quick in between working on a project...

Idk if this is so much a horror vibe. But yes, the mix def needs some work. The sounds are clashing together, mainly the synths, which is taking away from the direction you're trying to go. Drums seem nice though. I can see some potential in this. Try maybe panning some of them synths, and cutting them harder.

I feel like i used it before.

it's not the dilla snare but i had dilla in mind. i high passed the snare ~300hz and low pass 4k. added a transient master to get it to snap

If you can have your finished beat or song by August 28th we're good. This way if it needs any last minute mixing or tweaks @doublenegative can handle it as well as anybody else who is good at mixing.

Once we reach that date, we can start putting the tracklisting together and start sorting everything out.

I'm just trying to give everyone enough time to participate, but at the end of the day we're definitely dropping this in September. By the time October gets here we should be already starting on the next compilation project.

I don't know if this has been mentioned in the booth though.

Someone gotta drop that in the booth. Get me a lost, I'll start pm rappers ect. And no prob, I'll have my beat mixed and mastered by then. I can help anyone with mixing if need be, I'm not the best but can lend a hand.

With the lack of rappers, maybe we should consider making this a glorious instrumental album with a few rappers here and there. I will say that I am doubtful that anybody can murder my joint above.

I would be happy to execute, mix, and master the final project.

Challenge accepted. After I pass my cert test next monday, I'm going all hands on deck for this project.

This is what I came up with in like 20 mins. I browsed YT for horror movie themes, grabbed the first playlist and sampled the first thing that seemed easy enough..I want to do something complex but sometimes a simple beat is a good beat i'll see if i can come up with some other stuff. I did one thats completely original (no samples) the bass and drums are dope, but the piano and strings are weak as fukk and I cant fill them out...its not scary.
