LeBron going back to Cleveland in a way is like an NFL coach going back to college in terms of power.

Sure CLE doesnt have the glamour of Miami but like most College coaches, he is the GOD of that area and can do as he pleases. NFL coaches, while they make more money, dont have that kind of power in their localities. Riley wasnt going to cede any power to a player.

He did draft Shabazz. Lebron had plenty of say in Miami I'd assume...but having his buddies traveling with the team, taking in season vacations etc....there's a professional line that needs to be drawn. It's frankly bizarre how much Lebron's concerned with so many things outside of winning basketball games for a guy in his prime.

Dont get it twisted. Riley would do things he felt would please Lebron and take his input into high consideration but it's not like dude had serious power wehere they consulted with him when making most roster moves.

When Riley drafted Nappier he was not in a position of power because Lebron was a free-agent. To put it in perspective, Every chick wants a guy who brings them flowers just because. But as a man you mainly bring flowers when your chick is mad at you and on the brink of leaving you. Otherwise you tell them slime ball florists to fukk off and keep your money. Even in war, once your enemy captures a few of your soldiers and holds them hostage you are less reckless where you're dropping bombs all the sudden. Doesnt mean your're giving in.

Lebron and Udonis Haslem helped recruit Mike Miller to Miami. WHen it came time to amnesty his ass Riley just dropped the hammer. Even Lebron said he didnt like the move but Riley wasnt gonna take that kind of cap hit again on a player that was barely playing when we had a healthy Ray ALlen there.

Tristan Thompson at 13 mill per. :mjlol:

which he turned down
:mjlol:
Yeah i read that earlier. I hope his agent knows what they are doing. I hate to see a player hold a franchise hostage but at the same time i enjoy the shift in power and the economics of it

The sad thing is he could have done this years later and still had it play out the same way. He left titles on the tables and as a sports fan, that just feels wrong.

MEh... i truely believe he wanted to go home whoch is why im not that mad at him.

As i said before as an immigrant i understand the meaning of wanting to be back home so therefore i sympathize with him on that front. But i think dude also wants to have more say in things. Remember how he was talking about he wants to sit down with Adam Silver and discuss ideas and sh!t. WHo does that? He wants to be a decision maker and not just a highly paid employee.
I aint mad at him :manny:
