I fukk with Lil B and ASAP and their music doesn't sound the same. Just because they use the same producers doesn't mean their overall music sounds the same.
I attribute NY not fukking with ASAP to NY not knowing what the fukk they want out of an artist.
You got one side that wants the progression and one side that wants to be stuck in the 90's.

already refuted this point, this doesn't sound like a Rocky song outside the hazy "cloud rap" production.

bytch I posted a song EXACTLY like the song you posted. Listen to the first 10 seconds of my song. Then listen to the 1st 10 seconds of your song. ITS DAMN NEAR THE SAME THING.

I thinks its the same sample too :heh: :russ:

Just fall back and take your L sweety :shaq:

Rockys influence with the younger crowd in NYC is big. No one cares about the older NYC heads who listen to Maino and think Uncle murda and Shea Davis are top 5.

LOL @ listening to them 40+ year old "rappers" with criminal records, thinking that they are actual MCs.

no you didn't :heh:

they really dont sound similar at all outside the hazy kind of production, the rapping is completely different and makes the songs sound different.

:camby:

purely production don't make songs sound the same, the rapping AND production do.

negative.

ASAP is admittedly influential with the teens, just like Chief Keef. but nobody 21+ has breh high on their list. I listen to asap but as a poster child we like Montana and Troy ave:win:

It's a shame because Rocky put out better projects than both of them.

his sophmore album is probably going to be even better, imo hes showed progression from his mixtape to his album and hes not a complacent dude and outside his typical NY arrogance, hes stayed pretty humble. hes not where he wants to be at all and I can only see him going up.

If he has a hit record with just him on it, a big remix, and an album that doesnt have any songs like wild for the night it's a wrap. :whew:

i doubt hes gonna do anymore shyt like that. that songs was more of like a "lets get it done just to expand my fanbase on an international level and make them aware of me and that's that" and got him to play them hippie drugged out festivals and expand his fanbase outside just hip hop fans.

his "non" hit songs charted higher internationally than j coles plat hits. thing with rocky is, i don't even think hed need a "hit record" to sell. i think he woulda sold pretty much the same amount imo without fukkin problems if his album didn't have a month and a half early leak.

his next album, id pre order without even knowing anything about it cause I know hes going to give me an album worth my money.

but yeah, if he does put out a solo hit, it's definitely a wrap. he has the ability to, he knows what sounds good and what doesn't.

At least thats what it looks like from a outsiders perspective :patrice:

They always talking bout looking for the city "hip hop savior" like Rocky doesnt even exist :heh:

I remember watching that breakfast club interview with Camron. And how he couldnt even give that movement a direct compliment. All homie said was he dont see em in Harlem and that he aint with the skirts lmao :pachaha:

Can some of the NY brehs come in and speak on it. I bet he is cool with the youngins, but it seems like the gatekeepers and the 25s and ups of the city aint fukking with him at ALL :manny:

to be fair to them...

Cam and Dame seem to be co-signing Smoke Dza way more though.
