Large Pro crafted one of the best "not now" albums this year too. He's a treasure.

Luv NY, Ka & Roc Marc are all on that Ray West/AG/Everythng's Berri wave that i dig.

Sean P is Sean P. thankfully.

and Ace KILLED those special herbs. how do you take beats that familiar and breathe new life into them? a testament to how timeless the beats and MC are.

I'm giving myself "dap' for this one.

Thoughts? These are all albums/mixtapes ranging from good to great to album of the year contenders. Do you STILL hate New York and say its over?

Good year for hip hop in general. Still have to listen to a few of those releases, but NY did its thing this year: Album of the Year (Life Is Good) and a number of other dope projects.

I could care less if NY is on "top" again whatever that means. If you gotta sound like Lil Wayne to be on the radio then the south can keep that. I'm just glad to have some new grimey NY music that feels back to the basics. Nothin better than standin on the corner waiting for a bus in the dead of winter 10 degrees while bumpin that raw gutterness thru ur headphones. South nigaz could never understand that feeling.
