he brought up matt harvey, lol
ppl arent lining up to watch mets games because of matt harvey....dude overrates baseballs relevance like crazy these days...he's so out of touch
they are though, and when R.A. dikkey was winning game after game fans went to see him too, and Santana before that. He's actually right on that.
Hell, part of the reason why Yankee fans are so jaded towards the team and not showing up as much is because there isn't some up and coming star to go out and see.
Cromartie made the pro bowl last year
Cromartie's not replacing Revis. He was already there alongside Revis.
Kyle Wilson is replacing Revis and he's not even good enough to play the position.
so Jets fans were gonna show up to watch a bad team to see Revis cover guys?

I think if you have a legitimate superstar on a team, it's enough to at least gauge some interest in watching. When you have a player to build around, that's a selling point. You see it on TV. "Come see Deron Williams and the Brooklyn Nets, Eli Manning and the NY Giants, etc." There isn't a player to go see on the Jets, there isn't a jersey worth buying. Those things play a big role.
Why else do you think people were going to see the Jets?

Yeah, 2 different regimes.
Can't compare Tannenbaum to Idzik moves.
Tannenbaum was a complete fukking idiot. Idzik is showing some smarts, he plays his cards right and he's building for the future instead of clinging to an elite player who is not committed to being on your team in the future.
That relationship between owner and player was so ruined at that point, Revis constant holdouts and cashgrabs got old.
You look at the team and they were 8-8 with Revis in 2011 and a much better offense. They were 6-10 without Revis and a much worse offense.
He didn't make that big of an impact, it's just plain to see.
And now they're gonna be 3-13. Don't tell me that's gonna be attributed to the losses of Keller, Pouha, Landry and Greene.

Hes not a star pitcher or QB that sells seats

or like Rex wanted to do according to Ian oconner is trade cromartie . I don't get why football fans get so contract conscious and fall into the owners trap . Lynch the owner didn't want to pay since the team is bad , revis wants to much etc.... Bad teams and cheap teams make excuses to not pay elite players . It would be like the cardinals saying oh we don't have a real established qb once Warner left so let's get rid of fitZ , revis is an elite talent at cb so yes generally you shouldn't pay cb that kind of money but the best at the position ? Damn sure can pay them if not why the hell are you in business? What's the odds you keep finding once in a life time talentsAnd now they're gonna be 3-13.
