I think the episode that was a obvious reference to Yummy Sandifer was a tough watch. Only learn who he was years later after seeing that episode.

Why do they only play season 2 on BET?

What happened to the rest?

This was my shyt as a kid. Love watching the episodes. It was really a great show that included Hip Hop elements.

This is probably my favorite cop show and definitely my favorite dikk Wolf project. I've been rewatching the first 3 seasons over and over since it came out on Hulu last year.

It's a shame tho how Wolf and Fox pretty much purposely sabotaged the show after 3 seasons of excellence because they felt it wasn't bringing in a bigger (White) audience as it did with the OG Law and Order, what's funny is that this show at times, per episode had more viewers than The X-Files during its first few seasons.

A lot of people forget that this was Wolf's second major project before SVU and Criminal Intent. Hell, if not for this show getting cancelled, SVU might not have existed since this opened the door for that show to he made.

They killed off Eddie and McNamara, shut down Natalie's, moved from Uptown (Harlem), and took the Hip-Hop, R&B, and soul from the show for soulless electronic music, etc. Honorable mention to McNamara, I felt his character surprisingly meshed well with JC, Eddie, and Nina, they added him into the 3rd season to bring appeal to White viewers.

What I don't understand is that even if they wanted to remove Eddie's character, they didn't have to kill him off since he was moving into a new precinct or if they wanted to move forward with killing him off they could've continued the show in the same format and style but have a season-long arc of finding his and Tommy's killer.

If they didn't wanna bring Cooper back, they could've inserted Tommy from Martin's character as the new lieutenant as I think he would've fit well with the theme of the first 3 seasons. It's a shame because that show could've lasted up till I'd say the early 00s.
