This is because NYC doesn’t take the time and money to clean its gutters and storm drains!! The shyts are filled with garbage and dirt besides the sewer system being old as shyt and they haven’t installed any new pumps from what I’ve heard. All they did was shore up the substations from flood so the power stays on.

Exactly!

The MTA needs to explain what they are doing with the money especially raising fares every single damn time, trains are slow as fukk and always have signal problems. They are in for a real rude awakening. And for the people who don't think nothing will happen in their states the entire country is gonna feel the effects of climate change. Look at the winters they experienced, and look at the tornadoes and hurricanes that are now happening. No one is safe.

This is why while on the train ride home, I always heard the Europeans going to EWR saying NYC public transportation is a joke, with some choice words for NJTransit as well, and wasn't coming back anytime soon.

i was speaking from an ideal point of view.
point taken.
Oh yeah, I wasn't taking a swipe at you. You're right, that's how it is perceived - but here in the US "public goods" are constantly raided and underinvested - even if every single thing about infrastructure investment - from the jobs created to the better health outcomes to the increase in wealth - is a net positive.

It truly doesn't make sense to me.

People need to understand the importance of infrastructure investments. It sucks because you don’t see the need until it’s too late.

I swear I hate living in this country sometimes. It’s like being in a group project with a bunch of folks who don’t realize the project is due tomorrow and haven’t started any work.
my former physics teach in HS worked as an engineer in the field and he said this country is LONG overdue for some infrastructural development some places haven't been touched since the 30s, gonna be a big day reckoning soon
