-the cost of living
the cost of living in the city is just downright sickening. in fact, i dont know how people making under a certain dollar amount even survive. and if they are surviving, THEY ARE STRUGGLING unless they are hustling rocks. and this goes beyond even finding a home. i went into the liquor store last friday and EVERY BOTTLE was $8-$15 more than what I'm used to buying in Florida. my ex makes damn good money, and even she was complaining how she spends close to $900 a month on food alone. back to finding a home thing, but maybe i'm just spoiled by living in florida. but i would NOT be satisfied where the amount of square ft u get in an apartment worth even $2000 in NY. since living in florida for the past 5 years, I'm used to not having to hoard shyt, spacious rooms, enough space to manuever around easily without contorting my body several ways to squeeze into a crevasse between a dining table and the wall, etc etc etc. sounds trivial, but trust me its not. little nuances like that gradually drive you mad
-commuting/traffic
another downright sickening aspect to this city. i'mma give u an example that occurred JUST YESTERDAY!! (i'm back home in NY for the holidays)
i picked up a friend from Laguardia airport and she needed to be dropped in brooklyn. on the GPS, the ride should have taken only 20-25 min. silly me totally forgot that the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway needs to be totally blown the fukk up and rebuilt at least 4x as big. what should have been a 20-25 min ride took 3.5 HOURS. the funny thing is is that there wasn't even an accident. this is normal routine

-defeated look on the middle class
sometimes when I'm back home and i leave my whip in florida, i'll use my moms. I have to drop her at the train station and all that and pick her back up in the evenings. every evening I pick her up, I see the wear and tear on her face. the defeated look that she also shares with millions of other people. i'll peer into other car windows and see the same looks of defeat and anguish. life isn't easy, we all know that, but life in NY just seems so much harder and less joyous
-the people
anyone that knows my posting history knows my disdain for NY women, especially black women. American women and their ideals in general are fukked up to say the least but for whatever reason its 10x worse in NY. the shyt is amplified. it seems like most of the bytches here are craving to be with a Fabolous or Jay-Z type and they wont even look twice at u if u know Gucci'd down from head to toe, got the latest jordans and brands, etc. In result, u have a whole bunch of nikkas that look and dress the exact same, and will do everything and anything to get high fashion clothing. do u know how many times I've seen clowns walking about, Gucci this, Louis that, but taking the Q43 or N6 or some shyt?

. not only that, but much of these nikkas work at McDonald's or retail or some other job on that pay scale. a very limited number of males are actually going to school or acquiring skills for trade to even better themselves. nowadays, how nikkas get money is through credit card scams. the amount of nikkas doing this nowadays is insane. which brings up another point. if u going to restaurants and such in NY, ALWAYS use cash. you don't want your credit card information jeopardized. I have a friend thats been got twice already and know a whole bunch of other nikkas on the credit card scheme
-the overall quality of life
this basically ties everything together. the quality of life in other places is just FLAT OUT BETTER. I'm sorry but give me more space, friendlier people, better weather, cleaner environment, and just a simpler and more stress free life over a "diverse city, go out at any time and find something to eat, cool night life" any day of the week. all arguments I've heard in favor of NY are trivial and/or overrated to put it simply
grass greener in other places. way greener. alls I'm saying
