This amazing news.

NYC was a warzone in the late 70s, 80s and early 90s.

Remember being on the subway in the mid 90s as a kid visiting with fam and I was looking at some kid, at least I thought he was, couldn't have been more than 16 and he was staring back at me and flashed a pistol from his waistband :merchant:

Had me shook for the rest of the week in NYC :pachaha:.

Now when I go, it's nothing to walk around Harlem or BK at 1 am and still feel safe :blessed:

what did NYC do? get rid of all the poor people?

Combination of things

-broken window theory (look it up)
- flooded the city with cops
-cops armed like a paramilitary force
-cut down on vices (prostitution)
-super strict gun laws
-super strict drug laws
-take down gangs using RICO

Take all those things make it super safe and THEN you start the gentrification process which kicks out the poor ppl even the good ones

= how they did it
