I heard that the bottles of water they were distributing today was expired. We just can't get it right.

How does water expire though? :why: that can't be water then.

EDIT:
Nevermind, I got that wrong. The water doesn't expire. The plastic bottle is what expires. I just Googled it. Still though. Whoever did gave out that shyt must be determined to poison the people. Then again, I wouldn't be surprised if the land, air and water in the entire jersey itself was poisoned especially considering all the toxic waste sites, factories, former military base sites and etc. It's probably a lot worse than what they're saying.

Newark is receiving $155 million via a new lease agreement from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to assist in the ongoing replacement of all lead service lines in the city, the office of Mayor Ras Baraka announced Monday.

While specifics were not provided, Baraka is scheduled to hold a press conference on the agreement at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

The Port Authority did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

It is the latest response to the city’s lead water crisis, which has drawn national attention.

About a month ago, Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo Jr. announced a $120 million loan to Newark with the aim of replacing 18,000 old pipes, which connect individual homes to underground mains, within 24 to 30 months.

Lead levels in Newark spiked in 2017, but the problem escalated this summer when the federal government asked the city to distribute bottled water. The request came after alarming tests questioned whether the 39,000 water filters Newark distributed as a short-term solution were working to reduce lead as expected.

Newark began scaling down its bottled water distribution last week after preliminary testing of more than 300 filters showed 97% of them worked to remove lead from the tap water.

Newark residents receive water from one of two systems: the Pequannock treatment plant and the Wanaque plant. The lead crisis is primarily impacting residents who live in the South, West and parts of the North and Central wards serviced by the Pequannock plant.

The water treatment process at the Pequannock plant meant to prevent lead from leaching off old pipes stopped working, which caused the elevated lead levels. The city has changed its treatment process, but the effects of that are not expected to be seen for months.

The long-term solution to the problem is replacing the lead service lines. Though those lines belong to the individual property owners, Newark is replacing them free of charge.

Really. You got a link.

This is why a stay talking about environmental stuff. It's going to come back to your ass or your children's or grandchildren's if you not responsible from the get go.

My biggest problem with Trump is not coded racism or nationalism. It's how he is overturning environmental regulations to "jumpstart" the economy. :snoop:

Fox or CNN will never tell you he has lifted any regulations on GMOs, he has allowed the re-use of asbestos in building materials, and working on dismantling other environmental regs for water and air. Gone have us looking like China real soon in terms of pollution.

Andrew Wheeler used to lobby AGAINST EPA regulations, so putting him in charge was a joke. And the joke is on us.
