The CBA fukked teams man. The difference between back and the day and now is the pace of the game. Yeah it’s easy to play back to back when the game has 40 less possessions and you go 8 deep.
That would mean the game is being played at a dramatically more physical and athletic level than it was before. But folks aren't trying to be honest about that so![]()
He played 50 games this year. He has no merit to stand on.He’s right tho.![]()
Yeah so that tells you how low impact and low intensity the game was compared to now that athletes could play 82 games in chucks with no air conditioning and drive themselves to the game. Modern medicine and training didn't go backwards and create less durable athletes.More physical? Today's scoring average is 113ppg. In the 1970-71 season, the league scoring average was 112ppg.
Mind you, in 1970 they played in uncomfortable ass canvas sneakers, every arena did NOT have air conditioning, accommodations for people who were extremely tall was even more terrible than it is now. Back then, if you didn't play you didn't eat. The arenas were much more virulently racist, and some players still drove themselves to games. Also, the advancements in sports-medicine technology was way more primitive.
He had various injuries but that’s irrelevant. He played 50 games this year. He has no merit to stand on.
Edit: my bad, 51. So he played 65 games out of a possible 96 (82 reg & 14 playoffs).

It seems AG holds the exact same opinion, in all regards. We’ve still got three more series’ to go, so let’s hope we don’t get any more cautionary tales.I was actually thinking the other day when talking about the lack of rest teams are getting and the fatigue they're playing under with this playoff schedule, that I hope it doesn't result in a catastrophic injury.
Not that we can determine exactly how that contributed to Tatum's injury, but I definitely think the NBA should change it next season and spread the games out more.
The level of intensity these guys are playing at, compounded by all the space they need to guard, there needs to be some kind of adjustment to the schdueling where we're getting them at their best, not only for game quality (which has dipped from the regular season), but for the sake of the health of the players.
I reallly respect Aaron Gordon and the player he has grown intoCall the guy who played game 7 with a hamstring tear soft, brehs.

There wasn't even a three point line in the 70's. Everything was ran out the post and they covered less ground in the half court since with no 3-pointer everything was played closer to the basket. How was it low impact? they weren't running? They were scoring 112ppg slowly walking the ball up? They weren't jumping for rebounds, jumping to shoot, jumping to block shots?
NBA and the NHL work a similar schedule. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't hear this "rest" talk for hockey players
"Kyrie should be kicked out the league"
Making up fake quotes when I just quoted your c00n ass on some MAGA dog whistling shyt about the NBA is nasty work."Kyrie should be kicked out the league"
"JJ Redikk did an unbelievable job"
"I hate black men"
