Dude is from Chiraq and spits hot fire. Dude comparing him to Em doesn't know what he's talking about. Em spits way out-of-sync often and sounds like he stripped a gear, Vakill rides the beat.....

Panik is another dude with a similar style out of Chiraq. Most of the dudes the Molemen produced are......:wow:

props.

this is alright.

his flow is ass half the time.
his voice is wack.
he has no soul. no flavor. a lack of rhythm.
shakey mic presence.

need I go on?

you're full of shyt...

his voice? that's not a technical skill...it's something he was born with. However, when he use it in different tones/pitches that's a technical skill, but to say a nikkas rapping/speaking voice is wack so it dimishes his technical skill is fukking retarded.

He has no soul? Go to listen to Soldier

A lack of Rhythm? so you're telling me one of the greatest MC's to ever ride a beat ha sno rhythm? stop it 5

Shaky mic presence? again...one of the greatest MC's to ever ride a beat has no mic presence? do you know what mic presence is?

Hating ass nikka

he rhymes off-beat an awful lot. that's why he raps on all of those horrible soul-less beats. because those are the main ones that he can catch.

most of those off-beat rhymes are not on point with his kicks & snares. he did a good job of that in his earlier days tho.

his vocals are ass.

Which is why I give Jay a pass for the renegade because he hoped on an Eminem style beat and competed.
If it was me I would've made him rap to one of those kanye joints meant for cam'ron and burned him

however

this Eminem flowing on beat and having great lyrical skills with technical precision
that rap god shyt is fukking terrible and off beat at so many points of the song its unlistenable

After the second album he fell off, he simply lost the fire, I mean he got signed at damn near 30 so he was already close to lyrical burn out anyway.

Just like Em, but Vakill does it better and it doesn't sound 'forced'. Em with 'soul' = Vakill.

You give examples to show the difference.

Anyone can make a bunch of words rhyme together if they really sit there writing for a while. Very few can make intricate rhymes while getting across a point or perspective.

I hate reading lyrics. Even when it comes from guys like 2 Chainz. Of course in text it sounds dumb and/or basic. However in the structure of the song itself and the way it is delivered it comes to life in a sense. Feels soul less.

cosign.

yea. and still, I actually think jay came better on the track. I wasn't feeling Eminem's verse all like that.

yea, that first verse on "the way I am" almost made me buy the album. glad I saved my money. I mean, good album but that chit didn't make my rotation at all after I dubbed.

I think "rap god" is instantly one of his better songs actually.

I agree with the last statement the most. same with people like dmx & 50 cent.

The whole idea that eminem is a technical beast has to do with his TECHNIQUE and really more so about the variation in technique from album to album/era to era. All this "soul" shyt is outside of that argument and more so about what you can "feel" or identify with, or even what beats you like.

The only time something as subjective as "soul" really registers to me is when it comes to technical ability is actual song writing, which is indeed something that takes technique. Beanie sigel is great at conveying emotion, pac was the best at it, these are SKILLS, not innate shyt like having a dope voice or just being..black.

Em is great at conveying emotion in his prime, which adds to his overall skillset.

Now as far as "the most technically skilled" blah blah blah... IMO that's really because the people who have to take it THERE are really comparing him to his mainstream competition and not the game in entirety. Em is elite across the board but it's plenty of rappin ass rappers outside of the mainstream that can compare. When you pit him up against mainstream rappers it can look lopsided because he's benefiting from not having as much competition.

Just another reason to give the white boy his props in his own space than try and force some kind of handicapped ranking system to make you feel better about being fan.

his flow is ass half the time.

I'd strongly disagree. Even during his underground run, I wouldn't say his flow was bad, just that he was more concentrated on lines because that was the aim, it was a particular style that he was running with, not a lack of ability. Look at a song like "underground" where he revisits that "choppy" chino XL'ish style deliberately.

Compare "if I get locked up tonight" to some of his early early shyt where he was really just rapping like a normal rapper, ie shyt like biterphobia or the nas/az influenced shyt..staying on beat wasn't a problem, conforming to a straight up rhyme pattern while trying to be visual and cartoony is.

As he stopped being such a line for line oriented rapper he reverted back riding beats more normally.

his voice is wack.

His voice is his voice...not a technique, how he plays with his voice however does contribute to his TECHNIQUE being that he's adept and slants and bending words.

he has no soul. no flavor. a lack of rhythm.

This just sounds like "he's not black enough" to me. As I said, to me soul is largely being able to convey emotion, he can do that very well. He couldn't rap as well as he can without rhythm...flavor

I mean I know what you are trying to get at but "flavor" is not a technique, that's some intangible variable that you'd have to really reach deep into the opinion pocket to clearly define for a discussion like this.

shakey mic presence.

Not in his prime, in the least. No, and maybe even EARLY in his career? Bizzare's verse is wack but ammityvile is one of those great displays of how to deliver a verse, the second in particular...that's mic presence to me, and his ability to do that didn't really get shaky til after encore.

All in all...his technical prowess for me boils down to variation. Twista is another cat up there on the technical scale but picture how dope he'd be if he went back to that resurrection flow, or even some different shyt besides the double/tripple time. I think he'd be much more fun to listen to, this is one of the reasons i'm a big fan of em.

:dead: @ this being an example of "just like em, but better"

If that's the point you were trying to get across please come with a better song.

At what point does he sound like em outside of his "get you mad", purposely wordy type demo? He sounds KINDA similar to em between infinite and his aftermath shyt.

^ shyt is seamless in comparison, and much much different (not inherently worse) than a lot of the styles he was flipping that sound remotely similar to what vakill is doing on this track.
