Yeah, I mean at some point you gotta give hit his creative space to do other shyt

It's kind of weird to do 5 straight albums with someone and then branch off

It's like a breakup, I wonder what that conversation is like, or if it even is a conversation

They just slowly dead it, like Nas nitpicks something minor and then hitboy does the same and eventually they get tired of each other

Nas and Hit have the utmost respect for another. Both came into the partnership with impressive resumes and both got the maximum that they could have possibly gotten from one another. Hit-Boy became the only producer who can say he’s won Grammys with Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Nas and Nas became one of only two rappers in the history of music to chart 16 albums within the top 10 on Billboard. Nas helped legitimize Hit at a time when Kanye West was actively attempting to blackball him and Hit helped Nas at a time when many were doubting he could still be a cultural force after the reception of Nasir.

And Nas has been working with different producers throughout the last 3 years, including Statik Selectah, Alchemist, Swizz Beatz, DJ Premier, and Metro Boomin. Just as Hit Boy has been working with different rappers including Benny The Butcher, The Game, Snoop Dogg, Big Sean, Don Kennedy and Jay Electronica. Hell he did a full album with Musiq Soulchild in between all the Nas projects and a full album with Dreezy.

So its not like a breakup. Its like a Marvel Team Up. Two solo entities who came together to make something unique and exciting and eventually go back to their own corner of the universe. Doesn’t mean there’s any beef or problems and doesn’t mean they won’t ever team up again in the future.

SINY!!
Metro really impressed me with the Spiderman soundtrack.

Very well done

I agree. Outside of a handful of soundtracks (Black Panther, Belly, etc) I dont really like them, but Metro did do a good job. Metro has grown as a producer. especially the last few years.

As much I've loved everything Nas has done with Hit-Boy, I think a Nas album produced entirely by Metro could rival anything in the KD/Magic series.

That would be a TALL order considering KD3 and Magic. But Metro is certainly qualified
