What are the Tomb Raider roots?

Tough ass adventure platforming and puzzle game with light 3rd person shooting elements.

Ideally, you'd want an evolution of the original to be less about the combat and more about the actual process of navigating/surviving the tombs. Maybe a very detailed and interesting parkour traversal system and great story to keep you hooked in.

The newest trilogy honestly was not bad, but since other games were around that did what it was doing better it had no real original identity. Also the characterization of Lara was lost, she's a james bond/bruce wayne style boss chick whose a thrillseeker. The newer games made her much more of a generic archaeologist who just so happened to put herself in a survival situation.

I been playing this remastered trilogy and this shyt has been tough as fukk..

On the 5th level of tomb raider 1, I'm dedicated to beating this since I let this shyt beat me as a jit

I heard it's a chore with no quality of life improvements. Is it worth trying?

You joke (maybe ) but the series was literally built on sex appeal and gun play, with some piss you off/test your patience puzzle solving in-between.

A big titted brit in tight fitted clothing and designer shades, capable of somersaulting 10-feet in the air while shooting tigers with dual HK pistols in some desolate cave... that was the appeal when that TR II demo dropped 29 years ago.

You can innovate and modernize but sometimes you also just gotta embrace the fukkery aspects that brought you the success, like what Capcom continues to do with how they design/depict their Street Fighter women
