Off topic, but I watched 2 eps of that Lara Croft season 2 cartoon yesterday... and it made a lot of the common mistakes that come with the "girl boss" trope... i.e. making her a swoll asexual mary sue who wins at everything but can't upkeep her own hair.... when in truth girls want an mc that's feminine, fancy and dresses the part... ala Kim K, Rihanna, Taylor Swift... bascially how Lara was initially depicted 30-years ago. That's the female power fantasy. They also prefer strong boy/girl romance over daddy issue subplots and "best friends following around like lost puppies" crap.

Phenomenons like K-Pop Demon Hunters and Final Fantasy X-2 give a better idea of the type of protagonists women gravitate to. It's why i don't see a Horizon show doing well (if they keep Aloy's demeanor game accurate) bc you wouldn't have great gameplay to distract ppl from a swagless fancyless mid character. Think back to why Dina far outpaced Ellie in popularity/likability in the HBO show, even for casuals.

But i digress. With this new TR game, if they're not gonna learn from Shadows (narratively) or the above tropes, then this better be some of the dopest, most innovative gameplay mechanics to date.
