That part is true. They could I guess but this is just from what I was taught, the difference is how Metcalf's body is positioned but yeah they probably could. I honestly gotta see how they call this during the season. I still don't know for sure what they consider a horse collar because I see plenty that get called that I didn't think were horse collar tackles.

Why? We see the refs call a horse collar when it's not a horse collar. We see them fukk up roughing the passer all the time. Why would this be different? Football is played at a ridiculous speed, trying to officiate it is hard as fukk when the thing you are trying to call is about technique and most importantly, intention.

And the NFL gives two flying fukks about player's safety so I ain't buying this is for the good of the sport of something like that.
