Leading the teams in sacks on a mediocre defense is worthy of not being called a bust? He didn't transform that team into an elite defense. They had to switch to a 3-4 for them to turn into a top defense. Drafting Mario Williams didn't make the Texans a playoff contender.

But sure, getting 10 sacks a season while being the #1 pick and getting paid $90 million is not a bust :beli:

If Mario Williams was a bust... how the fukk did he get a $96 Million contract AFTER being a "bust" for 6 years in Houston.

using your logic, DeMarcus Ware is also bust....cause he has 115 Career sacks and the cowboys have only had a top 10 defense once during since he's been in Dallas.

and.... his 20 sack season was empty cause the cowboys were 20th in points allowed.

When you draft someone #1 overall, that guy is supposed to be your franchise player. The Texans didn't pay him $90 million because they knew he wasn't the franchise player. Mario Williams was never getting double teamed or caused the opposing offenses to plan around him. Defenses plan around DeMarcus Ware. Do defenses plan around Mario Williams? The Texans D was a joke until Wade Phillips showed up with the 3-4.

Also, JJ Watt came in and has played better than Mario Williams has during his entire Texans career. How does that even make any sense?

When I think of #1 overall pick, I think of someone changing the face of your franchise.

Keep looking at the box score and overpaying your players, brehs :beli:

holy shyt @ AJ Jenkins not having a catch yet :laff:

id call Keith Rivers a bust, hes a fringe starter on his 2nd team. career stats are shytty and he misses alot of time, for a 9th overall pick thats awful

Tyson Aluala made no sense when JAX did it, doesnt now. Kyle Wilson is well known by Jet fans but hes a terrible player that doesnt get much bust talk nationally

Wilson was a late first round pick....he plays. He just isnt very good. He'll be in the league for a while....it really depends on the context of a bust.

Jets gave up two firsts to trade up for that stiff too. He sucked. The following year the Jets used their first pick on a kicker(Nugent)

:dead:
Using a top 5 pick for a player from Kentucky that isn't in the NBA draft is usually a bad move...

Plus dude was barely 6' 0" in cleats...

Jonathan Sullivan went right after him in the draft too. Another complete bust.

Houston Texans win % before Mario Williams..... 18-46 (4 years)

Houston Texans win % with Mario Williams 47-49 ( 6 years)

Mario Williams is currently 2nd in the league in sacks.... but we're gonna act like that's not actually happening...and that those sacks, are "empty" cause nobody is planning around the HIGHEST PAID DEFENSIVE PLAYER IN THE HISTORY OF THE NFL.

keep making up stuff brehs:rudy:

this is garbage line of thinking
lol at #1 overall picks needing to be HoF candidates in your eyes to not be busts :dead:

Im guessing jake long is also a bust in your eyes, even tho hes been to 4 pro bowls and an all pro ? :heh:

you idiots really think one player can make a garbage team picking #1 overall into a contender ? :mindblown:

Mario Williams may not be a bust but he should not have gone number 1, infact unless you are that one of a kind once in a lifetime player, I never understood how you could waste the no 1 pick on a non skill position. They over paid for what he does, big record breaking contracts should have nikkas giving you the :rudy: face for even saying you are not that good let alone a bust. But I cant believe no one said Dwayne Bowe, he hasnt done anything in KC
