NFL creates HBCU combine

The combine will provide an evaluation opportunity and exposure for Draft-eligible HBCU athletes

The NFL will conduct its Combine Series, featuring the Regional Combine Invitational (RCI) and the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Combine, from March 27-29 at the Miami Dolphins’ Baptist Health Training Facility.

Both Combines will provide an evaluation opportunity and exposure for Draft-eligible athletes with no remaining eligibility who were not invited to the National Invitational Combine (NIC).

Format for the HBCU Combine:

  • Friday, March 27: Measurements and Club Interviews
  • Saturday, March 28: On-Field Workouts
Format for the RCI:

  • Saturday, March 28: Measurements and Club Interviews
  • Sunday, March 29: On-Field Workouts
These players will be identified after consultation with a panel of former club personnel and National Football Scouting (NFS). Prospects for the 2020 International Player Pathway program will also participate at the RCI.

Final schedules and player rosters will be sent in the coming weeks.
Please email any questions to NFLRegionalCombines@nfl.com.

It's a lot of small school and HBCU cats that don't get the opportunity but do really well in the league...

why not have something to showcase them? It's not like many scouts going to HBCU prodays anyway.

I'm all for it:yeshrug:
They already had this. Swac and meac already had specific nfl scouting days.

There’s a good amount of HBCU guys in the NFL

There’s not even one HBCU guy in the NBA
Not true at all. Kyle Quinn who use to play for the Knicks ( currently with Philadelphia) graduated from Norfolk State with his degree in Education and liberal arts.
