I don't see the appeal of watching the draft in ANY sport. I just look up what team the notable college players went to or the players my team drafted online

Nobody tuning in to see millionaires become mega-millionaires. There's no back story buildup on any of these dudes either.

Or maybe people realized that the NBA draft is nothing more than

1. Watching the same people talk about players for hours
2. Watching people get picked
3. Watching highlight film of people who got picked
4. Watching "War Rooms" which is nothing more than people sitting/standing doing nothing
Basically leading up to the draft, sports media is oversaturated with content. Unless there is a gambling element to it, nobody gives a shyt.

0 intrigue about the top pick...who went to fukkin Indiana. This is a QB driven sport and people are supposed to get hype over Mendoza and Simpson? Fine players obviously but nothing super outstanding or controversial about either. Seriously the biggest hot button issue in the first round was Bain's arms. This was an 06 NBA type draft.


And all that said...its 2026. nikkas aint sittin down in front of no TV to watch this like its a Saturday afternoon in 1999.

Who were the main players?

People knew Fernando Mendoza mainly and that’s it. You can even say the 3rd WR picked was maybe the most popular non-QB.

This was a really good draft, but not at very glamorous positions. This was a trenches draft really. Versatile Offensive Line players primarily.
