i worked there for almost a year in their financial planning department. 3 different boro locations. seeing 22 year old girls who lived in places like Marcy and Whitman houses who had been on the NYCHA wait list for 4 years while she was in a shelter with her 2 kids, come in for her 3rd abortion, was fukkin depressing. no one should have to go through all that. ever.

the crazy thing is that abortions make up less than 5% of the services they provide. they mostly provide family planning services, birth control and help girls like the one i mentioned whos story wasnt uncommon or embellished at all, get enrolled in medicaid.

idk what the founders true intentions were (and abortions werent even being done there afaik when it was founded. think about the time period it was founded in) but today they provide services to people who desperately need them.

if they taught sex ed and financial literacy in school from like the 3rd grade every year until graduation we'd be so much further ahead as a society. even if kids dropped out, by the time they were legally allowed to they would have a solid foundation when it comes to the two main things that can make or break their lives

i feel you in spirit ,mbut im not sure where "1 out of 10 clients received an abortion" thing is from. from my personal experienc working at a few centers in nyc that was far from the case. this is anecdotal evidence but again from my experience it was more like 1 out of 30 at worst. and nyc is always the exception and not the rule but the centers werent in impoverished areas at all. the one in the city is in soho/little italy area. then you got one next to the courts in downtown bk. maybe the bronx one fits that mold but its only in that spot bc its a convenient transportation area for busses and trains

no it cant, because planned parenthood doesnt have a police force to drive around and enforce abortions

Personally I dont care about numbers. Quality over quantity. If a poor future mother cant take care of her kids then so be it but when a highly educated black woman who I know decided to get one because she didnt want a child.....that pissed me off for sime reason.

The majority determines a peoples future, so quantity matters. Without quantity black people will go extinct like Natives. Meanwhile whites will rule as a function of their 100+ million quantity. Simple math. Either blacks stop aborting or die out.

i have no problems with abortion, not sure how wrong it looks in this post but i dont care, young girls having kids at 14 due to choices they made, not the best but what can you do? if a young girl or boy didn't get "educated" then they best think hard about the future, most dont even have good teachings around them so what you think the child will go through.
