"One 21-year-old defensive end took 537 hits to the head during a season of football games and practices at the University of North Carolina."

All these concussion-based changing of rules, are all a band aid measure in solving the bigger picture. This rule-change is only cutting down on ONE variable of concussion amongst a possible 1000+ others. Changing of equipment (helmets and pads) is the only answer, nothing else will suffice. Meanwhile, the game suffers and I highly doubt with the latest $100 million grant for a decade-long study of the players health, will result in the NFL taking off those band aids once they do find the best possible solution. It'll be a case of going too far forward, and not wanting to go back. It's a shame it took a player's death, for them to take this shyt seriously before they put anything worthwhile into practice.

We could've already had better helmets/pads by now without having a large amount of these rule changes.

It's almost a natural human instinct when you play football, or hell almostany sport, to put your head down when facing contact.

Nobody goes into any sort of contact leading with their face.

Says the guy who never played football in his life :heh:
If you did, you wouldn't be sayin this dumbshyt...
