I have a college degree my dude.

You call me dumb yet continue to move the goalpost from simply having a college degree to now having a JD.

An agent can negotiate a deal in conjunction with a lawyer, yet here you are giving a law degree sainthood. A lawyer can draw up a contract....congrats. That doesn't make them good enough to broker a good deal for a client. A law degree free agent can do that, and some of the best agents we've seen in sports do not have a degree of any sort.

If anything, these young athletes today are smarter than in years past where shiesty lawyers ripped off their clients ten fold. But here you are giving the Bob Arum's of the world unearned sainthood by virtue of their JD.

if this was established and the norm from jump, no one would have any issue over it. it suddenly becoming some issue when jay z steps into the agent world is not a coincidence. i have a degree. i have looked over and brokered exactly zero contracts in my life. am i suddenly more qualified than jay fukking z to handle contract negotiations because i have a degree?

how stupid are y'all. Reason why most agents have degree in Law. 95% of it is contract law.

Lawyers that draft contracts do middle to back office jobs and agents can always keep them on retainer to draft or review the contracts. That's why a law degree is not a requirement. To be a great agent, you need the business networks/ relationships and lawyers aren't necessarily good at that. Nothing about obtaining a law degree makes you a good businessman.
