Agreed, but there is enough there to give him more time, no? I'm just looking at the thought of getting rid of him. OK. Get rid of thim. You draft a rook with a late pick and hope that he can match Dalton's production and have a higher ceiling while still being a contender? You get a new QB, you take a step or 2 back.
Perfect situation would be to have a good backup now.....so if Dalton does struggle, that backup can come in. Every team should draft a QB every few years for this reason.
I say draft a QB this season in the first 3 rounds. Depending on how this season ends up, the pick could be higher.
I honestly just believe that this team and the individual receiving talents that we have are all limited by Dalton's inability to see the whole field and make all the throws.
Andy Dalton really has no special talents or ability that makes me feel that he'll be hard to replace. He doesn't have to make hard throws. A lot of screens, short drops, very quick throws. He never really has to read the D because his arm most likely wouldn't be able to zip the ball in a spot anyways
Like I feel someone like Tannehill would probably be a pro bowler with our weapons.
