I noticed hella Detroit people got the same type accent as Cali folks

I heard Detroit people say Bay Area/Cali music was always big in the D because the accents were the same and the love of Funk music is deep in both places.

There are black people in the Bay with the same accents as black people in LA with the hard “r” sound in everything. But not everybody sound like that. Black people in Cali got roots in Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana etc.

The "r" is very Cali-esque

As a kat from Alabama, that Cali accent sounds mad weird.

That NY accent is too aggressive and makes me want to swing on them kats preemptively.

Memphis has my vote for the best one.

When it comes to women, something about a Naw’lins accent that does it for me. :noah: They sound so sweet and endearing. And… they can cook they asses off. Must be that French influence.

Yup. Cali. Detroit. Kansas City area. Milwaukee and parts of Ohio all have similar accents. It’s weird.

Didn't alot of black families from the midwest migrate to cali in the 50s and even up until the 80s? That's probably why they sound so similar.
