I got home late and literally missed Galchenyuk's first goal by seconds. Nice to see the kid get his first goal out of the way early. I'm glad Therrien is giving him a chance to play center and giving him some PP time. Jacques Martin would have had him playing 6 minutes a game on the 4th line.

Apparently Benn and the Stars are almost done finalizing a contract.

Said to be in the range of 5 years, $33mil.

That seems like a bit of an overpayment, no, $6.6 mil? I guess they really have no other choice when they basically hitched their wagon to him last year, when the new owner said he was the face of the franchise.

But if I'm Eriksson and I'm at $4.25 mil for the next 3 1/2 years, I'm not too happy.

They did their thing on Detroit tonight though

The Montreal Canadiens are getting they're own 24/7 style reality show. This should be fun.

You know it's gonna be a fluff piece though, so I'm not gonna get too stoked for this.... I mean, if I thought it WOULD be like 24/7, awesome, but the Habs wouldn't let that kind of openness (good and especially bad) to be seen.

Carey Price is doing well again. He's solid but has a better team in front of him this year.

It's a bit too early, but the "superstar" goalies have sub-par stats, I'm talking about H. Lundqvist and J. Quick.
