Or have God awful puck luck. Devils puck possession is near the top of the league. But their shooting percentage is also at the bottom of the league. That being said Lou f'd up not going out and getting a suitable Parise replacement.

rarely do nhl teams repeat, hard to do, and the west is so deep. For example for LA to even make the finals there gonna have to beat san jose, then chicago, then like anaheim anythign is possible but i doubt it
