Finally beat him a few days ago and damn brehs this game is addicting. It's like a combination of Onimushu and Bloodborne. Decided to specialize in the dual katana and kusagari (sp?).

DLC adds new weapon type,skill trees, difficulty, and the abyss. You won’t be able to access new stages until you beat the game.

The game wasn't overly difficult with the exception of (a) the second lightning dog and (b) that part where you have to kill two raven tengu together in one small space.
