Only a certain segment of the population will ever hug a man with a gun in his waist, and those are 9/10 people who have grown in that sub culture/environment, and normalized that behavior.

Now, there is a crossing of worlds, we read about in books, see in movies, and music, where the thug with a heart of gold beds a society type, even though their worlds are SO SO (dramatically) far apart, and this happens in real life to. I can attest to this, personally. However, it's few and far between, and all sorts of unlikely things have to happen, and a certain person in that right time, and so on.
