My view of being a man is probably different than most peoples here because I was raised very traditionally.

The girl she was talking to told her that she had a kid now so she needed to think about stability and finding someone reliable for her and her son. Igbo conceptions of manhood are very interesting. It's unheard of in our culture to think that a weapon = manhood. Being able to provide for your wife and your children is manhood. Being very successful in terms of earning money is manhood. Being respected in your community as a pillar is manhood.
