You can't blame it on the father. If that's the case then every situation where someone is shot and killed should be blamed on the father. Yeah it's messed up if you grow up without a parent (though that probably wasnt the case here) and a lof of people of mental and emotional scars from that. But you have to take responsibility for your actions and not act like you don't know the difference between right and wrong. Anybody i don't care what you came from or who you are,unless you are mentally ill you know that more than likely the consequences of killing someone is jail or death for you.

His son used to come to the barbershop I went to because his mom (Van Exel's babymama) used to date the dude who owned the barber shop. Craig's Barber shop in Garland. That little dude had everything he wanted or needed. Now I'm sure he probably wished his dad was around more but I don't see how you blame Nick for that. Once he got older it seemed like he was always trying to prove to everybody that he wasn't just a spoiled rich kid (hence the armed robberies). I used to hear about him involved in shyt in Garland and be like
