Nick Young, who signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers last summer, should be an attractive guard option on the free agent market this offseason.

"I'm just trying to get a long-term contract," Young said. "I'm just going to weigh my options and see what goes on. Free agency is crazy. I've been in it the last two years. I'm just hoping for the best."

Young hasn't ruled out a return to the 76ers, but expressed optimism about being able to go through the free agency process and evaluate his options.

The days of volume shooting wing players that can't do anything but score are long over.

Nick Young & Jordan Crawford would have averaged 25ppg and shot like 38% back in 2001 and people would have been fine with it.

what team will give him a long term contract? scoring is the easiest thing to do in the NBA and that's all he does. He's a less efficient less dynamic version of Jamal Crawford and Jamal Crawford has bounced around.

If Nick Young could defend he'd have that contract but he's a talented player, theres no reason a team like the Grizz or even another contender can't use him as a solid 6th man.

He might end up getting a decent 3yr deal from a team that needs to fill cap room. A lot of talent, but needs to smarten the fukk up on the court...and i don't think he can.

Wizards offered him $6 million per year over like 4 years and he turned it down last year before he got traded to the Clippers

Nick is a good 3 point shooter and a good on ball defender. But he takes bad shots, low IQ, doesn't do anything else but try to score. No boards, no assists, etc. Just too much one on one and trying to play hero ball all the time.

The NBA is much deeper than it was in 2003. I remember when scrubs who could only defend was getting 4 mil for 4 years. Nowadays, they just hope to make the roster and get spot mins.
