Tell me what lil wayne has done to be called the most influential hip hop artist of all time
He can be considered that, the caveat is that he didn’t really influence anything actually good. Wayne influenced a generation of mostly trash. Outside of Future and Kendrick (the latter of who is also influenced by Eminem), you have a full dumpster fire of artists he’s responsible for.

Clearly whomever best serves RocNation’s client list / personal interests.
It’s a Clutch Sports situation with the Super Bowl Performance being the Lakers roster slots essentially.
There's just more marketability and potential for profit with Kendrick. It comes down to dollars and what makes business sense. Relationships are definitely a part of it as well.

Kendrick is a rising star in 2024. He's not new but he gave people a bit of music this year and the people are clamoring for more. He's not saturated. He has organic hype and dealing with his team is probably more favorable and opens more doors than dealing with Birdman and Mack at this point, let's just call that what it is.

Kendrick is going to generate more interest and excitement from a larger crowd than Wayne would, bottom line

How old are you? Nobody over 20 I should have to explain this too. 90% of hip hop right now comes from him. From the dreads to the rampant drug use to the autotune. That's all Wayne. Yes, that all existed before Wayne but popularized it.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
I agree! It should've been Pitbull or Flo Rida. Two HOMETOWN, Miami artist who have massive followings. Why didn't Jay follow the "Hometown Rules" in that instance? :jbhmm:

Roc Nation has beef with them?
They didn't want it to be a hip hop show. If an RNB singer headlined the NO superbowl this year I doubt people would care as much.

Saying autotune and drug use like they are positive things.

It comes down to Wayne not being trustworthy. He regularly forgets lyrics, late to shows, lack of care etc.

I think a lot of y'all are missing the point. Do the NFL or NO owe Wayne anything? No, but this is more of a homage thing for the people that want him to do it. He's one of the greatest hip hop artists of all time and probably the most influential hip hop artist of all time. He deserved that spot off those two factors alone. That and the fact they got a rapper to do it is what they are so mad about. If they would have gotten N'sync to do it then it would have been an oh shucks, oh well type of deal. But they got another rapper to do the NO SB over the GOAT NO rapper??? Blasphemous.

If they picked a mediocre white act over him we just shrug and say oh well. But they picked a legitimately great black artist we wanna raise hell

Makes sense :skip:
