I am from California and I live in Arizona. I am surrounded by conservatives and Republicans. Generally speaking, the men in my area have been nothing but respectful, friendly and complimentary to me. Sorry to disappoint you.

Im not surprised though because while I was in Cali I noticed more black people lacked awareness of racist whites compared to other areas.
