If you want to take some "enlightened" stance that's apolitical and above all context, then yeah I can agree that Trump saying something and putting pressure on the conflict to be resolved is OK.

But he didn't just speak out about it, he said he wanted the military to prepare to invade:

Trump wrote in a social media post on Saturday that he had instructed the US Department of War to prepare for "possible action".

He warned that he might send the military into Nigeria "guns-a-blazing" unless the Nigerian government intervened, and said that all aid to what he called "the now disgraced country" would be cut.

Even then you can sort of justify it if it was just him making a bluff and not really planning it... so long as that's all that it was. Which none of us know.


But then we have to add back in all the context of 1. who trump is 2. how trump sees Black people/nations 3. the United States and its history when touching down in Africa 4. Every foreign nation and their history when touching down in Africa and things get murkier
