People really didn't learn anything from shyt like the French Revolution. At a certain point, no one is above being touched.
Keep in mind the end result of that revolution was another despot taking over and himself syphoning funds and govt assets. He became just as bad as Louis

Coups rarely result in progress . Especially if they are military coups like @Swahili P'Bitek mentioned.

The aftermath of coups, especially those executed by the military, isn't up for debate. However in the process no matter how high you are on the socioeconomic totem pole, you can be reached. The sheer pressure exerted by an enraged populace always results in the people at the top being offered up to protect their own lives.

That said, I have absolutely no hope for this actually providing real change in the long term. Power vacuums always get filled and usually by the most opportunistic players. These same people are most likely funded by a major power and their best interest is in continued disorganization and corruption.

:jbhmm: What resources does niger have that would cause forces outside the country to want it in a disorganize and corrupt state as to better gain a foot hold there as means to get a hold of the resources of the country for cheap.

It's hilarious considering the folks threatening him want to put that same money into their swiss bank accounts. :pachaha:

We've seen this same game get played dozens of times in 3rd world nations. Each new regime is just as bad as the last one. Look at sudan, Zimbabwe , Egypt, etc :francis:

When I was in Cairo, this Egyptian girl I was with lamented to me about similar claims their govt made after Mubarak was deposed. Turns out the new govt not only established swiss bank accounts and syphoned funds, but had actually colluded with their neighboring nations to sell govt assets. They even secretly sold off an island, and the residents didn't know until the next country came to claim their homeland the next morning :wow:
Do you see the transformation that's happening in Egypt??

If there's one thing we know by now, its that the military can't govern anything, at all. They usually set a bad precedent in their twisted form of justice that comes back to bite any new leader installed. Look at Charles Doe etc.
Someone has to take control over the government and in these situations it's usually the military. They are on the clock so only time will tell how all this plays out but so far Francophone countries have been doing what needed to be done decades ago and that was dealing with the French interference in their lands by ousting all of them out.
