Nigerian brehs, what's up with your military?

I've heard that Boko Haram was/is backed by politicians in Northern Nigeria (mostly Muslim) and all of this makes Goodluck Jonathan look weak. On the other hand I've read Goodluck Jonathan benefits from all this because he gets basically all of his support from the South and none from the North. So if the North is a mess due to terrorism/criminality and what not, less people from the North will vote and he'll have an easier election.

Whoever win this election is gonna have a tough time if oil prices are this low.

So both sides are benefiting from the mass slaughter of innocence.......
