If they don't update and get one by 2019 they can't vote.

This means eventually all Nigerians will be defacto MasterCard customers and supporters.
This is controlling economics in a way I haven't seen pushed this aggressively until now.

I actually don't like this.
I would agree with you there. It seems almost like a direct breach of any perceived sovergnty. Thats like my California ID having a chinese bank account attached to it. Thats just... I don't know.
Its not a good look.

I have no idea if/how this will spread, but I don't think this is gonna be the end. And whats most interesting is that the Nigerian people's reaction would indicate that they had no idea until it happened.

This is extremely disturbing.

The card will contain:
-Photograph, name, age, and unique ID number
-Ten fingerprints and iris scan

Planned uses:
-Stored-value card - for example to receive wages
-ATM card
-Debit card
-Voter ID
-To receive social benefits, pension
-Tax payment
-Driver's license
-Health insurance

There will probably be fees to access your own money. The government will be able to monitor your purchases and any disease/health condition you might have. If stopped by the police you will have to hand over all info on your life.

Norfeast groovin…
Disturbing and disgusting.

I heard Mastercard isn't accepted in Togo, does this end diplomatic relations between them and Nigeria? :hmmjb:

It will be a banker owned cashless society. All anonymity will cease. It's the prototype/mock-up of what they would love to introduce on a global scale.

You don't have to use those things via the card, not to mention most of those things don't exist currently, which is why this is good.
