But why is it our fault we don't know about Africans?

I mean, haven't we been in America for over 400 years?

:patrice:

In that case, Africans/foreign Blacks don't know anything about Black Americans.
So because you’re in America you should forget the history of your origins?

meanwhile whites are analyzing molecules of dirt and sand to gain more information from civilizations that existed thousands of years ago just for the chance to gain more knowledge. Smh

Those origins aren't my origins.

:yeshrug:

You expect us to know about other people's origins when we don't even know that much about our own origins? That's just beyond weird to me.

Its like your desperately working to justify your ignorance.

You can have it.
What ignorance?

You're mad at the fact that Black Americans been in America for over 400+ years fighting white supremacy, police brutality, etc. And don't know much about Africa?!?!

:mindblown:

We don't even know much about our own history. I'm seeing ADOS on Twitter barely finding out about the Tulsa race massacre through a damn tv show, yet you're mad because we don't know anything about Africa?

How does that information even concern us?

:mindblown:

I'm mad that you're happily ignorant. Go enroll in your local hbcu and take some history classes

Wow.

Is this what Tariq has become to?
Dissing Africans? Because they don't want thugs?
Sounds like a Republican thing.

And blacks with cancel culture?
That's pathetic and so are you!

Africa is a very big and vast continent, our origins being "African" is irrelevant, when every human on Earth is derived from Africa. In addition to that, we don't even know what countries our ancestors were sold from. Tasha from Harlem and Malik from Detroit prolly have vastly different DNA results, Tasha might be 20% Nigeria, while Malik has no trace of Nigerian on his DNA results. Damn near everything about us was formed after the Middle Passage(ethnicity; history, culture, etc), of course we on average aren't versed on African history, because gasp... we not African :ohhh: and y'all let those of us know when we visit Africa.

White people aren't African yet they still learn and understand African history.

Again, some thirst for knowledge, others run from it

I'm Liberian and never heard a Liberian in my life say it
we just call ados "blah americans"
That is your experience and I respect it. I have seen Anglo West Africans who hang and work with Nigerians use that word. It is very common to see this in assisted living homes and hospitals among CNAs and other health workers, where pidgin is the common language. This is not something I am pulling out of nowhere.
